About Heroines
Heroines is an independent digital magazine covering Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Horoscope, Community and Careers. Women are still told to negotiate harder in workplaces where the pay band was set before they arrived. It is part of VUGA Network, a group of independent digital publications published in the United States.
About Heroines
Profiles carry most of the reporting. A subject is followed over weeks, sometimes longer, and the piece includes the parts that did not work: the funding round that fell apart, the promotion that went elsewhere. Salary figures appear where a subject agrees to name them, because vague encouragement helps nobody.
What We Cover
Leadership follows women running teams, companies and organizations — the route to the role, decisions made in it, resistance encountered, and the reasons some step away — with board representation figures and promotion data included. Entrepreneurship reports how businesses are built and financed: amounts raised and from whom, equity retained, revenue reached, and the many companies funded by customers rather than investors, with failures covered beside successes. Careers covers the practical route: promotion criteria, pay conversations, returning after a break, changing field at forty. Community gathers the mentoring circles, professional networks and local groups people credit when things improve, with plain notes on what each does and how to join. Horoscope appears each week as a lighter read, written with affection rather than authority. Careers News reports hiring and redundancy announcements, employment rulings, pay transparency legislation and leave reform, stating who is affected and from when, while Business News checks companies' public commitments against their disclosed spending.
Where We Draw the Line
Sponsored founder features, personal branding advice and confidence lectures dressed as journalism are declined.
